What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Some cookies are strictly necessary to make a website work or to protect it against abusive traffic; others are optional and run only with your explicit consent. On Doctena's public websites, optional cookies are governed by the CookieFirst consent banner (CookieFirst is provided by Digital Data Solutions B.V., Netherlands). The Trust Center subdomain you are reading this on does not use cookies at all — see the next section.

This subdomain sets no cookies

The cookie register and consent model described below apply to Doctena's public websitesdoctena.com and the country domains — where optional cookies are set and governed by the CookieFirst consent banner. This page is published here, on the Trust Center, as the single durable reference for those cookies.

Cookie categories

On Doctena's public websites, cookies fall into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary: cookies without which the site cannot operate securely — for example recording your consent choice or protecting against abusive traffic. Set automatically; no consent required.
  • Functional: cookies that power an optional feature you choose to use — currently the live chat offered on selected pages of doctena.com. Set only after consent.
  • Analytics: cookies that help us understand how the site is used in aggregate. Set only after consent and configured to anonymise the visitor (IP truncation, no fingerprinting, Do-Not-Track respected).
  • Preferences: not currently used. Language and country selection on Doctena's public websites is encoded in the URL, not stored in a cookie.
  • Marketing: not used. We do not run advertising or embed marketing pixels on our public websites or on this subdomain.

Live chat (HubSpot)

Selected country and language versions of doctena.com offer a live chat provided by HubSpot (HubSpot Ireland Ltd.). The chat is loaded only after you accept the Functional cookie category in the CookieFirst banner — it never runs on this Trust Center, and it is not loaded on the country/language versions that do not offer chat. When it loads, HubSpot sets the cookies below.

Managing your choices

On Doctena's public websites, the CookieFirst banner lets you accept or decline optional cookies on your first visit, and you can reopen and change your choices at any time through the Cookie settings control on those sites. Declining or later withdrawing functional consent removes the live chat and prevents its cookies from being set; withdrawing analytics consent stops new analytics cookies from being set and instructs Matomo to discard future behaviour signals. Previously-recorded anonymous aggregates remain in our analytics archive for 13 months.

Because this Trust Center subdomain sets no optional cookies, there is no consent banner to manage here. If you would prefer to block or delete cookies at the browser level, every modern browser allows that under Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies.

Similar technologies

The Trust Center uses no localStorage, browser fingerprinting, session replay, heat mapping, advertising pixel or social-network pixel. On Doctena's public websites, analytics is privacy-configured Matomo (IP truncation, no fingerprinting, Do-Not-Track respected); and where the HubSpot live chat is offered it keeps some conversation state in your browser's local / session storage (HubSpot's __hmpl and hublytics_events entries), gated behind functional consent. Neither the Trust Center nor the public websites run advertising or social-network pixels, cross-site tracking, session replay or heat mapping.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when a cookie is set or removed, when the retention of a cookie changes, or when a new consent option is added. Material changes are recorded in the site changelog.

Optional cookies on Doctena's public websites are managed via CookieFirst (Digital Data Solutions B.V., NL) · EU consent endpoint. The Trust Center itself sets no cookies.
